Air Vanuatu increases capacity for Santo Island

Air Vanuatu has announced it is sending the Boeing 737-800 to Santo in December to assist with the strong demand for seats and cargo space prior to Christmas. “December is always a busy time for us in the domestic market, with children finishing school, Uni students heading home and families sending Christmas presents to loved ones,” Chief Executive Officer Joseph Laloyer said. “As such, and in order to stave off a backlog of freight and passengers trying to get home, we’ve schedule the jet to operate a Santo to Port Vila service on 08 December, departing at 8:40pm.”

Mr. Laloyer said as a one off Christmas special, seats on the extra service will be just 10,000vt all inclusive. “We also have two tonne of cargo space available, so we encourage anyone in the northern island wanting to send cargo to Vila, to take advantage of this flight.” A second supplementary jet flight has also been scheduled from Port Vila to Santo on 18 December, departing at 03:55am, so as not to delay the international services that day. “As this is the week before Christmas, our freight customers are strongly encouraged to use this service to send cargo to Santo,” Mr. Laloyer said. Normal fares apply on this flight, however seats are expected to fill quickly, so book early by calling 23848 or 23878. “As we approach the Christmas period, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our passengers a safe and happy Christmas and prosperous 2012,” Mr. Laloyer said.
