When you are on your honeymoon in Vanuatu all you need is your romantic partner,
but it's also good to spice up your holiday with some interesting activities.

Is there a better way to start your marriage than to go to the honeymoon of your dreams? The most popular honeymoon destinations usually feature white sand, blue sea, and wonderful nature wherever you look at. That is why Vanuatu is becoming a more and more popular destination for such a holiday. However, the described scenery is just a small part of what this place offers.

Of course, you can spend your entire honeymoon relaxing on a beach, but if you and your spouse want to experience an amazing adventure for newlyweds, you should know that Vanuatu is the place where you can find everything you are looking for. Vanuatu is a true tropical paradise located in the South Pacific. Have a look at some of the adventures that these incredible 83 islands have in store for you.

Start your honeymoon in Vanuatu by diving

Diving is one of the most popular activities in Vanuatu. Santo Island is where tourists usually go for diving, even though you cannot make a mistake whichever island you choose. All of them are surrounded by clear blue waters that are home to many marine animals.

You can also explore the shipwrecks in Vanuatu. There is a large wreck of a Coolidge ship that is almost intact. It is easily approachable from the beach or by boat. Not an entire wreck is accessible for exploration, but the bow and starboard are. They are covered in corals and you can see many triggerfish, lionfish, nudibranchs and moray eels there. You can even see the collection of jeeps and trucks that sank on the ship during World War II. One of the best locations for diving is named the Million Dollar Point - the odd memorial to political spite.

If you prefer snorkeling, you can also enjoy the turquoise sea water and incredible coral reefs. Many representatives of sea life will keep you company. Port Vila offers many snorkeling options to you and your spouse.

Diving adventures are very popular in Vanuatu islands, whether you only want to
enjoy the underwater world, or go shipwreck diving to Santo and Efate spots.

Catamaran Sailing or Cruising - which do you prefer?

You can choose from a sailing catamaran tour or a more romantic option - renting a catamaran for just the two of you. Of course, you need to have some basic knowledge about sailing if you want to take your partner to such a tour. That would be a memorable honeymoon adventure in Vanuatu. If you like cruises more than catamarans, don't worry, Vanuatu has it all covered. All you have to do is choose the destination and enjoy. Just do not forget to check what is included in the package and whether you need to bring your own food or towels. Many cruises have it all included, but some don't, and you wouldn't want to starve on your honeymoon, would you? You can also choose from pleasure cruises (you stay on board all the way through) or diving trips (there is some time planned for diving too).

Exploring the islands on foot and Hiking options in Vanuatu

If you want your honeymoon to be filled with adventures, then you should leave a day or two to explore the islands on foot. That can be a great activity if you need to be mindful of your budget, plus it is good for your health. Of course, some places can only be reached by boat, but once you get there you are free to explore. This island-hopping activity is very popular among tourists. Many of the islands are uninhabited, which makes them a perfect getaway for newlyweds. You can make a picnic wherever you want, and enjoy the wonderful nature around you. Go to Efate and Espiritu Santo islands if you want to meet the locals and learn a bit about their culture.

With so many activities available in Vanuatu, sometime you might choose to
simply go for a long beach walk, enjoying each other's company.

Vanuatu islands offer many trails and paths for an active vacation. Some of those are easy to walk to and through, while some will give you the adrenaline rush. If you prefer the latter, you should hike a lava-shooting volcano. If you have never walked through thick jungle before, here is your chance. Vanuatu hiking can easily be one of the best memories to take from your honeymoon. Who knows, maybe you end up contacting to help you pack for your move to Vanuatu if the two of you fall in love with this place.

Are you in for some horse-riding?

Horse-riding was probably not the first thing that came to mind when you were planning your honeymoon in Vanuatu. However, you should know that there is an adventure park called Club Hippique that offers exciting horseback rides. You can even ride down the white beaches or go see the rainforests. Many horseback riding facilities offer to teach you the basics of riding a horse, so maybe this could be the skill you would learn with your better half here and now.

Are you a fan of fishing?

Again, fishing is not a typical honeymoon activity, but if the two of you are into it, then why not? You can even charter a professional boat for this purpose. You might get lucky to catch some of the following:

big eye tuna - that would be a great catch on your honeymoon in Vanuatu

striped Marlin - usualy found in tropical seas, close to surface

giant trevally - giant kingfish or ulua

queenfish - a fine sportfish, known as Queenies or skinny's

sailfish - with a characteristic sail-like fin that runs along the entire length of the back

There are also other fishing options such as deep-sea fishing and reef fishing. Naturally, these activities are what the locals are good at, so do not hesitate to ask for advice.

Parasailing and surfing on your honeymoon in Vanuatu

Port Vila and Hideaway Island are the locations where you can experience parasailing. It is a great activity for adults, teenagers, everyone. So you can enjoy it on your honeymoon too. The flights usually last for ten minutes and, depending on the wind and the speed boat, you can fly some 60 meters above the sea level. Vanuatu might not be most famous for its surfing spots, but there are some options. Just prepare that if you want to try surfing on your honeymoon in Vanuatu you will have to be very patient.
